Effective date: November 1, 2026
Nia's World, run by Niermala Gahar.
What we collect and why
- Accounts: your email address, sign-in details, and account identifier, so you can sign in and return to your own entries. Passwords, if you choose one, are handled by our authentication service, not displayed to Nia.
- Daily Walk: the SMS program is not currently active, and we are not collecting mobile numbers right now. We retain earlier registrations containing first name, mobile number, consent wording and time, and registration status. Earlier registrants can ask through our Contact section to have their number deleted.
- Letters and contact: your subscription email, and any name, email, message or book/planner interest you submit, so we can respond or provide updates you requested.
- Your writing: gratitude and love-jar notes, journals, daily notes, planner/My World entries, saved quotes and reflections, and stories or comments you submit. We store dates, visibility choices and moderation information needed for these features.
- Reactions and safety: hearts, emoji reactions and reports. Some reactions are tied to your account; no-sign-in artwork reactions use a random browser identifier. Public form requests use a hashed network-address fingerprint to limit spam.
- Technical information: hosting and service systems may process network address, device/browser information, requests and error information to deliver the site, keep it safe and help us improve reliability.
We use personal information to provide these features, respond to requests, support safety, and send only messages people opted into. We do not sell personal information.
We never sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
Private notes and shared words
Gratitude notes and journal entries are private to your account by default. Other visitors cannot read them, and Nia's ordinary Studio tools do not provide access to your private journal. These are access-controlled records, not end-to-end encrypted records: the service infrastructure must process them to store and retrieve them.
When signed out, private jar notes, saved wisdom and “Just for me” stories may stay only in your browser. Anyone with access to that browser may be able to view them. Clearing browser storage can remove them.
“Only for Nia” stories can be read by Nia. Stories you choose to share on Walk Together and approved public comments can be seen by others after moderation. Choosing Anonymous hides your name from visitors; it does not remove an account association from our records. Please do not post private information.
Storage and service providers
Lovable provides website hosting and Lovable Cloud provides our managed database, accounts/authentication and uploaded-media storage. These services process submitted data and technical information to run the site. Records are protected by account-based access rules and restricted owner tools. No internet service can promise absolute security.
The optional Gentle Insight feature sends the words you enter to Lovable AI Gateway and an OpenAI model to produce a response. It does not automatically send your journal. Avoid entering sensitive information there; we do not promise zero retention or make guarantees about a provider's training practices.
SMS: GatewayAPI was the planned provider; the program is paused and no mobile numbers are being collected or sent to an SMS provider.
Email letters: Resend sends our confirmation emails, welcome letters and occasional newsletters from letters@niaswisdom.dev, on our verified niaswisdom.dev domain. Email requests and their pending, confirmed or unsubscribed status are stored in Lovable Cloud. Resend processes recipient addresses, email content and delivery information to send our letters. Account sign-in and password-reset emails are handled by our managed authentication service, separately from newsletters.
Service providers receive information needed to provide their services, not permission to market to your mobile number. Information may be processed outside your location; applicable safeguards and privacy rights still apply. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect safety and rights.
Daily Walk SMS — paused
Nia's World Daily Walk is not currently active. We are not collecting mobile numbers right now. If you registered earlier, request deletion of your number through our Contact section.
When SMS launches
US/Canada (+1) numbers only, up to 1 message per day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent is not required to use the site or make a purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Email choices
Homepage and footer requests use the same letters list. We use double opt-in: after requesting letters, you receive an email with a secure confirmation link. Only after you confirm will you count as a subscriber and receive a welcome letter. Earlier saved requests stay pending; Nia may choose to send one confirmation invitation, but they do not receive newsletters unless they confirm.
Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and email headers that let supported mail apps offer their own unsubscribe control. You can unsubscribe anytime, or ask through our Contact section to remove an unconfirmed request. Account sign-in and security emails are separate from optional letters.
Browser storage and cookies
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your text-size choice, keep browser-only jar notes and saved wisdom, remember recent quotes and private stories, and prevent repeat emoji reactions using a random visitor identifier. The app does not add advertising trackers or a third-party analytics SDK. Hosting and authentication services may use essential storage or technical logs.
You can clear this storage in your browser settings; doing so may sign you out and remove device-only entries. We do not claim storage is limited to preferences: it also supports the optional writing and reaction features listed above.
Retention, access and deletion
We keep account content while it is needed to provide your account and until you delete it or request deletion. Subscription, consent, contact and moderation records remain while needed for their purpose or legal and safety obligations. There is no automatic expiry currently set for these records. Necessary backup copies may remain temporarily under the providers' retention practices.
You can remove notes and download your journal or delete supported personal content in My World. To access, correct or delete other data or your account, use our Contact section. Account content is deleted on a verified request, subject to any records we must retain by law. We may ask for limited information to confirm the request belongs to you. Device-only notes must be deleted on your device.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, the EU and the UK, you may have rights to access, receive a copy of, correct or delete your information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. Where applicable you may request portability and complain to your local privacy regulator. California visitors may exercise applicable privacy rights without discrimination; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where applicable, we process data to provide requested services, with consent for optional messages, and for legitimate safety and reliability needs or legal obligations. Contact us to exercise a right; withdrawing consent does not undo lawful processing that happened before withdrawal.
Children
The site is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 in the EU/UK. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted data, please contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
Changes to this policy
We will post updates here and change the effective date. For important changes to how we handle your information, we will provide an appropriate notice on the site or by email when possible. Please review this page from time to time.
